Education Building, Art Lofts Projects Underway

The Education Building Renovation and Addition Project:  The Education Building on historic Bascom Hill serves as home of UW-Madison School of Education.  Now, thanks to a generous private gift, this 100-year-old structure is undergoing a renovation and addition to renew historic characteristics and to prepare it to meet the School of Education’s 21st century needs. Bids are scheduled this fall, with construction to begin in January 2009 and completion by late 2010.

The Art Lofts Building Project: The long-sought goal of bringing all areas of the UW-Madison Department of Art into a unified, modern instructional facility is beginning to take shape with development of the Art Lofts – the former University Warehouse near the Kohl Center – into state-of-the-art facilities for most graduate art programs. The transformation of the Art Lofts is well underway, with completion due by the end of 2008.
