Join the Wisconsin Center for the Advancement of Postsecondary Education (WISCAPE) for a panel discussion ​looking at teacher education and preparation in a global context​. The panel will featuring ​visiting scholars in the UW-Madison School of Education, including: 

  • Nur Alacam is a visiting scholar from Middle East Technical University in Turkey. Nur focuses on early childhood education and is currently working with Beth Graue, a professor in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction. 
      
  • Yi Lu is a visiting scholar from Ludong University in China. Yi focuses on TESOL and teacher education and is currently working with Maggie Hawkins, a professor in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction.
      
  • Johanna Sitomaniem-San is a ​post-​doctoral ​research ​fellow in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction. Johanna focuses on the interdisciplinary field of curriculum studies (educational theory, history, and cultural geography) and wrote her dissertation on Finnish teacher education and its academic history at the University of Oulu in Finland. 
This event is cosponsored by the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at UW-Madison.
