Amdur earned her master of fine arts degree from the School of Education’s Art Department in 1982. She is currently a professor of art at Rutgers University–Camden.

Over the course of the non-media specific workshop, students will challenge their sense of how and why they make art in the way they do, be encouraged to work beyond the scope of the workshop, and emphasize creative risk-taking.

“At the heart of my workshops is the realization and understanding that all artists stand on the shoulders of those who came before them,” Amdur said. “We inherit characteristics and values that have been passed down for generations in our family lineages. These values are part of us and impact our work both in positive and not so positive of ways.”
