UW-Madison's Bartlett to deliver book talk at Columbia University Feb. 23

February 20, 2017

UW-Madison’s Lesley Bartlett will be delivering a presentation about her new book Feb. 23 at Columbia University.

The book is titled “Rethinking Case Study Research: A Comparative Approach" and is co-authored by UW-Madison alumna Frances Vavrus.

Bartlett is a professor with the School of Education’s Department of Educational Policy Studies.  She is an advocate for the comparative case study approach that explores all layers of global, national and local dimensions of case-based research.

A flyer promoting the talk at Columbia University explains how Bartlett “contends that new approaches are necessitated by conceptual shifts in the social sciences, specifically in relation to culture, context, space, place, and comparison itself.”

Bartlett's talk is presented by the Center for Multiple Languages and Literacies, and co-sponsored with the Department of International and Transcultural Studies from the Teachers College at Columbia University.
