UW-Madison’s Daniel Corral was recently invited to attend the Education Policy Academy this summer in Washington, D.C.
The academy is sponsored by the American Enterprise Institute (AEI)
, and it runs Aug. 9-11.
“I think attending the AEI Ed Policy Academy is a tremendous opportunity to engage with other scholars and understand how research can maximize impact on education policy at all levels,” says Corral, a Ph.D. student with School of Education's Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis. “In the current political climate, emerging scholars can't just do research for research's sake. I want to use my research to improve the educational experiences of students who have been historically underserved in higher education.”
Corral is a second-year doctoral student studying higher education. In particular, he is interested in examining Latinx college student engagement.
