The Office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion is honored to work closely with communities of marginalized identities to support them in creating affinity spaces to network, build community, and share resources. Below, you will find a list of active affinity spaces in the School of Education. If you have any questions or would like to discuss creating a new affinity space, please email oedi@education.wisc.edu.
LGBTQ+ Affinity Group
The School of Education’s LGBTQ+ affinity group is for anyone in the School of Education that identifies as a member of the LGBTQ+ community. The group meets regularly to engage with other members of the community, provide peer advice and suggestions, and build comradery. If you have questions, email Jason at jason.roth@wisc.edu.
SoE Latine/x Affinity Group
Please join us to work towards creating an open and shared space for Latine/x students in the School of Education at UW-Madison. We welcome all identifying members of the Latine/x community regardless of race, indigenous status, sexuality, religion, ability status, sex, gender identity, financial means, political perspective, nationality, or mental health status. We plan to create dialogue, host events, identify needs, and advocate for social change to ensure our whole selves are seen and valued at the School of Education.
