The Office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion offers training, workshops, and other EDI professional development activities to members of the School of Education. The curricula and approach to workshops are intended to reflect the School’s commitment to inclusive excellence and therefore can emphasize a mixture of theories and practices to meet groups where they are. Requested workshops provide an opportunity for groups to co-create a learning experience with their facilitator to ensure it is tailored to the needs of their organization.
Requested workshops provide an opportunity for a group like a committee, subcommittee, department, or unit to request a training experience tailored directly to that group's needs or interests. Requestors will meet with a facilitator, discuss who the group is, and what they'd most interested in the group taking away from the experience.
Individual consults provide the opportunity for one-on-one conversations about a specific issue, need, or topic for individuals. These conversations can include topics like syllabi needs, issues arising in the classroom, or consensus-building resources. The end product of a consult will depend on what the individual needs or would like to get from the meeting and can include tangibles like templates, facilitation guides, or a requested workshop for a group.
