Kruthika Kamath is the OEDI graduate assistant and doctoral candidate in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication (SJMC). In her role, she provides program and administrative support, assists in the implementation of OEDI initiatives and student engagement, along with managing communication and outreach.
Most recently, she has been an instructor and a teaching assistant for various SJMC courses. She has also worked as a project assistant for the UW–Madison International Projects Office, a senior copywriter, a social media manager, and a UI/UX content writer. On the research front, she specifically studies patterns of care, acknowledgment and social activism that emerge within feminist social movements on a global scale. Her two main research projects are on the #MeToo movement in India and the global social media discourse on abortion.
Kruthika holds an M.Sc. and M.A. in Global Media and Communication from the London School of Economics and University of Southern California, respectively. She also received her B.A. in Mass Communications from Mount Carmel College in Bangalore, India.
