Amy Mueller

Amy Mueller is a fifth year PhD student in a hybrid program in Curriculum and Instruction between Design, Informal and Creative Education and Multicultural Education and is advised by Erica Halverson. Upon graduating in the summer of 2022 Amy is accepting a new role as Assistant Professor of Learning Technologies at The University of Oklahoma where she aims to explore the evolving role of technology in fostering liberatory indigenous education practices.

Amy is a former elementary educator, first teaching 4K and later as a K-5 technology teacher. Amys’ research is focused on the equitable use of educational technologies, family and school relationships, and the integration of informal learning environments within formal school settings at the elementary level. Her dissertation (In)Equity in Online Learning: Technology and Bias in Elementary Education during the Pandemic explores the impacts of deficit-bias on elementary educators, caregivers, and ultimately, students while exploring frameworks for equitable online learning for future implementation.
