What brought you to UW–Madison?

Growing up on the south side of Madison, I was only a ten minute drive away from the UW–Madison campus. Also, my mom has worked at the Kohl Center my whole life. Whether it was going to football games as a young kid, or annoying my mom at her work, I have been around campus my whole life. That exposure to UW-Madison made me fall in love with the campus, and I have known I wanted to come here for a long time.

How did you choose your major?

In high school, I always enjoyed teaching and I was extremely interested in learning about human anatomy. I shadowed an athletic trainer and really enjoyed that experience. My major in Kinesiology encapsulates those interests.

What will you be focusing on during fall semester?

With school being somewhat online and somewhat in person, I will just be focusing on keeping my grades up and staying safe. I am looking forward to living downtown and having some classes in person again. I really miss the interaction that I had in class with my peers and professors.

What are your hobbies or interests outside of classes?

One of my hobbies is playing tennis in a league once a week and teaching tennis for Madison School and Community Recreation in the summers. I love the interaction with students and seeing the progression they can make throughout the session. Another hobby of mine is enjoying the outdoors. Whether it be hiking, kayaking, or going on walks and runs, I really enjoy exploring the outdoors and finding new adventures to go on.

What are your future goals?

My plan is to go to grad school for physical therapy. I am not sure specifically which school, but I know I want to be a physical therapist.
