Maria Cunha

Ed-GRS Fellow

Maria Cunha is a first-generation Brazilian American from Southern California pursuing her doctoral studies in the School Psychology area within the Department of Educational Psychology. She is advised by Dr. Andy Garbacz.

Before beginning her graduate studies, Maria earned dual bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Rhetoric from the University of California, Berkeley. Her research interests include family-school-community partnerships, culturally responsive assessment and intervention, and improving the translation and accessibility of school-based practices to support meaningful family involvement across diverse contexts. Outside of her academic work, Maria enjoys biking, swimming, exploring the outdoors, and spending time with friends.
