Kaplan to serve as visiting researcher at Luxembourg Institute for Social and Economic Research

Kaplan is the Patricia Busk Professor of Quantitative Methods with the School of Education’s No. 1-ranked Department of Educational Psychology.

According to the institute’s website, “LISER is an independent institute for social and economic research addressing policy relevant issues based on state-of-the-art scientific methodology. The institute is committed to become a key player for evidence-based policy advice both on the national and the European level. Therefore, the institute is engaged in developing tools for quantitative and qualitative policy analysis serving for causal ex-post evaluation as well as for model based ex-ante impact assessment of policy interventions.”

During his time at LISER, Kaplan will be presenting his recent work on Bayesian approaches to estimating country-level trajectories in educational outcomes and collaborating on multiple LISER-based projects.
