She is a professor of educational organization and leadership in the Department of Educational Policy Studies.

Cosner also recently accepted the position as director of UIC’s Center for Urban Education Leadership.

Cosner received her PhD from the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis in 2005.

Her research interests include organizational change; school reform and improvement; leadership for school improvement; principal preparation, development, and evaluation; and principal preparation program improvement.
