Mia Hicks
Credentials: Ed-GRS Fellow

Mia Hicks is a doctoral candidate in the Curriculum & Instruction program at the University of Wisconsin- Madison. She attended University of Wisconsin-Madison for both her Bachelor (early childhood/ESL education) and Master’s degrees (Literacy). Mia is interested in research that examines how to reimagine social emotional learning in ways that are culturally affirming for Latinx students in bilingual classrooms. Previously, Mia taught kindergarten and third grade within the Dual Language Immersion program in Madison.
