Tandem Press exhibition ‘In Bloom’ opening May 3
An opening reception will be held on Friday, May 3, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Tandem Press Apex Gallery. The exhibit will then be on view through Sept. 28.
The Tandem Press, which was founded in 1987, is affiliated with the School of Education’s Art Department. The Tandem Press brings in artists who use its faculties to create editions of prints and interact with undergraduate and graduate students. The Press is one of the only professional presses affiliated with a university in the United States, and is internationally renowned, with Tandem prints hanging in museums and corporations across the country, Europe, and China.
“In Bloom” will beckon in the spring and summer seasons with a selection of prints from Tandem’s inventory that depict flowers, vines, and other artistic expressions of plant life. This exhibition will include works from a range of different styles in reflection of nature’s ability to reveal itself through many colors, shapes, and forms.
Artworks featured in this show will include prints from Robert Coleman, Janet Fish, Sondra Freckelton, Maser, Dennis Nechvatal, Judy Pfaff, and Dan Rizzie.
Visitors to In Bloom will receive a 20 percent discount off their print purchases during the month of May.
The Tandem Press is located at 1743 Commercial Ave., Madison.
