Dr. Linda M. Pheng is a 2023 graduate of the Department of Educational Policy studies under Dr. Stacey J. Lee. From the University of Maryland, she holds a BA in Anthropology, a BA in History, and an MA in International and Comparative Education. Linda studies race and ethnicity, displacement and belonging, and movements and memory in the aftermath of forced migration. Specifically, her research aims to unpack how multiple and interlocking oppressions are experienced by working class Asian/Southeast Asian immigrant and refugee populations in formal and informal educational spaces. Her dissertation is entitled, “Disrupting Displacement: Taking Root in a Southeast Asian Community-based Educational Space for Southeast Asian Refugee Youth.” Linda is currently an Assistant Professor at the University of Pennsylvania’s Graduate School of Education
