Elijah Nicks
Credentials: Ed-GRS Fellow

Elijah Nicks brings an interdisciplinary lens to education, shaped by an undergraduate degree in biochemistry with a minor in African and African Diaspora Studies and an MBA with a concentration in Educational Leadership. Now a third-year Ph.D. student in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis, his research focuses on the persistent underrepresentation of Black and Brown communities in STEM education and careers. He is especially interested in elevating the voices and successes of Black teachers and examining their impact within Black educational spaces.
Beyond his scholarship, Elijah has gained extensive experience teaching in urban schools in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and leading out-of-school time programs, reflecting a deep commitment to expanding equitable educational opportunities. His work stands at the intersection of science, leadership, and social justice, with a vision to reshape educational pathways for historically marginalized students.
