SoE Buddy Program

The SoE Buddy Program was launched in fall 2023 to welcome incoming first-year and transfer students into the School of Education (SoE) by pairing them with upper-class students based on their shared major and interests. The SoE Buddy Program occurs annually in the fall to give incoming students more guidance and mentorship during their first semester at UW–Madison while also fostering student engagement and community within the School of Education. The program offers tailored programming for its participants, along with perks and incentives to encourage attendance at events hosted by other units in the School of Education. SoE Buddies are invited to all events hosted by the School of Education.

How to join: The application for the 2026 to 2027 academic year will open in spring 2026.

SoE Buddy events and activities:

  • Jan. 23th: SoE Buddy January Welcome Back. This event will be from 5 to 7 p.m. in Room 159, Education Building.
