Kaj Tug Lee

Kaj Tug Emily Lee is doctoral student in Education Policy Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a recent graduate of Swarthmore College. She is a first-generation HMong American originally from Brooklyn Center, Minnesota. A committed advocate for Asian American and HMong representation, Kaj Tug has participated in non-profit and legislative efforts to support HMong bilingual and Asian American studies education in Minnesota and New York City.

Her research interests center on how HMong youth navigate organizing spaces and how their political resistance can become a tool for reimagining and redesigning educational policy. In her free time, she loves reading and playing tennis.
