UW–Madison’s Mitchell Nathan is the author of a new book that is titled, “Foundations of Embodied Learning: A Paradigm for Education,” published by Routledge. Nathan is a Vilas Distinguished Achievement Professor with the School of Education’s Department of Educational Psychology.

It was a beautiful late summer day for members of the School of Education community — many used to seeing each other only in boxes on their computer screens — to reunite for the traditional Welcome Back Bash for faculty and staff, in the North Plaza of the Education Building overlooking Lake Mendota, on Thursday, Sept. 2. While enjoying a full tailgate lunch, and picking up T-shirts tagged with the phrase “Lead and Inspire,” attendees took a break from their workdays to catch up with colleagues and kick off the new school year.

WCER researcher Andy Garbacz and his research team have received a $4 million grant to study the impact of family-school partnership intervention on behavior, practices, and relationships for young students with social, emotional, or behavior concerns. Garbacz is an associate professor in the School of Education's Department of Educational Psychology.

UW–Madison’s Robert Enright was a guest on BYUradio’s “The Lisa Show,” where he discussed approaches to helping individuals with narcissism. Enright holds the Aristotelian Professorship in Forgiveness Science with the School of Education’s Department of Educational Psychology.

UW–Madison School of Education Dean Diana Hess announced that Percival Matthews will serve as the School's interim associate dean for equity, diversity, and inclusion. Matthews will begin this new role on Aug. 1.
