Tiffany Munro

Credentials: Ed-GRS Fellow

Tiffany Munro

Tiffany Munro (she/hers) is a second generation Haitian-American from Miami, Florida, who is currently pursing a doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology.

She brings a liberatory diasporic lens to her work, centering the intergenerational knowledge folk bring to systems of education and health.

Her programmatic research agenda, grounded in Critical Race Theory (CRT), examines the ways in which knowledge, culture, and identity are policed, owned, or denied within academic spaces. Central to her projects are the use of critical counter-narratives. She is particularly interested in the spiritual and cultural wealth of BIPOC communities as a critique of the ongoing embargo placed on Black peoples within the global knowledge market.

Her most recent projects include “Spirituality and Wellbeing Among BIPOC Students: A Scoping Review,” which is currently being finalized for publication and “Exploring Spiritual and Religious Narratives Among Black, Indigenous, and Students of Color in Higher Education” cocreated with her advisor Dr. Alberta M. Gloria.

For further discussion of her research or to connect professionally, Tiffany can be contacted at tmunro@wisc.edu
