Natalie Rivera

Natalie Rivera is a first year doctoral student in the Department of Counseling Psychology at UW-Madison. Her research interests focus on cultural and linguistic aspects of mental health in Latino communities and mental health stigma. As an Education Graduate Research Scholar Fellow and a Master’s student in the Counseling Psychology program at UW-Madison Natalie conducted research as part of the Esperanza Research team related to using a Translanguaging framework in psychotherapy with multilingual members of the Latinx community as well as the training of multilingual therapists serving populations that have been marginalized in Latin America and the United States. Natalie has taught courses related to Dimensions of Latinx Mental health and Race & the Developing child. Natalie did her Master’s internship at the Counseling Psychology Training Clinic.
