UW–Madison’s Aly Amidei, an associate professor of costume design in the School of Education’s Department of Theatre and Drama, has been nominated for a 2026 Equity Joseph Jefferson (Jeff) Award for Costume Design in the Midsize category.

Amidei earned the nomination for her costume design work on the Buffalo Theatre Ensemble production of “Georgiana and Kitty: Christmas at Pemberley.” The play is a continuation of Jane Austen’s “Pride and Prejudice” and the third installment in a trilogy written by playwrights Lauren Gunderson and Margot Melcon.

In its review of the production, Newcity Stage praised Amidei’s work, noting that the costumes “capture the period in mood and color.”

The Jeff Awards have honored outstanding Chicago-area theater artists annually since they were established in 1968.
