O’Connor is recipient of Forward Award from Wisconsin Alumni Foundation

School of Education alumnus David J. O’Connor is a recipient of a 2022 Forward Award from the Wisconsin Alumni Foundation. In his work as the American Indian Studies consultant at the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, O’Connor trains educators about how to infuse their lessons with knowledge about First Nations’ histories, treaties, sovereignty, languages, and cultures.

UW–Madison’s Wicker awarded Ford Foundation Fellowship

Paris Wicker is a fifth-year PhD candidate with the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis. Her dissertation is titled, “Who Gets to be Well”? A Social Network Analysis of Well-Being for Black and Indigenous College Students.”

The University of Michigan School of Education magazine published a profile of UW–Madison’s Brian Burt in a story spotlighting the school's inaugural alumni award winners. Burt, who received an Emerging Leader Alumni Award, is currently an associate professor in the UW–Madison School of Education’s Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis.
