This past summer, the UW–Madison School of Education launched four short-term, faculty-led study abroad programs. Nearly one hundred students participated in these programs – embarking on courses to explore team building in Costa Rica, theatre in London, education in the Galapagos, and movement/sedentary behavior in Portugal.

Sofia Vandersluis graduated from UW–Madison last spring with a degree in elementary education and a certificate in educational policy studies. Now, she is a first-year fourth grade teacher at Heritage Elementary School in Waunakee, Wisconsin.

Thomas A. Romberg, a professor emeritus with the UW–Madison School of Education, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 3, 2023, in Fitchburg, Wisconsin. He was 90 years old.

Five individuals with ties to the UW–Madison School of Education have been named to the sixth cohort of Morgridge Fellows. The fellows were selected through a juried process to participate in the year-long learning community designed to further institutionalize and support Community-Engaged Scholarship.
