Five School of Education faculty members receive Honored Instructor awards

Housing residents are invited to honor instructors who have impacted them positively, challenged them, helped them learn, and inspired them.

For the Spring 2019 semester, five faculty and staff from across the School of Education were recognized.

Those being honored are:

Douglas Rosenberg, the Chair of the School of Education’s Art Department. Rosenberg, a professor of video, installation, and performance, creates multimedia pieces that have been exhibited nationally and internationally.

Faisal Abdu’Allah is a creative arts community faculty director for the Studio, also serving as a professor with the Art Department. He works with printmaking and installations, examining issues of race and identity in relation to issues of cultural diversity and multiculturalism.

Also with the Art Department is Yoshinori Asai, who is a Master of Fine Arts student set to graduate in 2020. Asai, who works in 4D and 4D installation, recently showed his work in his multimedia exhibition, “Dear Mr. Good.”

Bianca Baldridge, a professor with the School of Education’s Department of Educational Policy Studies, is also being honored with this award. Baldridge’s work critically examines the confluence of race, class, and gender, and its impact on neoliberal economic and educational reforms that shape community-based educational spaces engaging Black youth in marginalized communities.

Jenny Lamb is a lecturer with the School of Education’s Department of Theatre and Drama. An accomplished actress, Lamb is also the co-founder of Li’l Buds Theatre Company, a non-profit children’s theatre company.
