UW–Madison alum Farrow finalist for Golden Apple Award for Teaching Excellence

Now a ninth and 10th-grade English teacher at Oak Park and River Forest High School in Illinois, Farrow earned her undergraduate degree in English education from the School of Education in 2006.

Following a highly competitive process, 32 educators were selected as finalist for the award, out of over 550 nominations. The award honors outstanding teachers for their roles in having lasting, positive effects on student’s lives and building stronger communities. Teachers are nominated by fellow educators, students, parents, and community members for their positive impact on student’s growth and learning.

Golden Apple, which partners with Northwestern University, is committed to recognizing and supporting impactful educators across Illinois.

In a press release noting this year’s finalists, Alicia Winkler, CEO of Golden Apple, says “Golden Apple is honored to recognize outstanding educators whose quality of teaching and passion for growing their students create an environment in which students are inspired to persevere and attain their dreams.”
