Department of Theatre and Drama’s ‘Into the Woods’ runs Feb. 21-24
Over 80 UW–Madison students, from first-year to doctoral students, will be involved in the production of this popular musical. They’ll participate in various forms — from singer-actors, to instrumentalists, to stage crew, to designers.
“Into the Woods,” created by Stephen Sondheim, connects popular fairytales to tell the story of familiar characters — including Cinderella, Jack and his bean stalk, Rapunzel, and Little Red Riding Hood — who venture into the woods to fulfill their wishes. While it seems that they all will live “happily ever after,” the consequences of their actions come back to haunt them.
Tickets are on sale now, with a discount available to UW–Madison students. The show will take place in Shannon Hall at Memorial Union.
