Paper identifies training gaps for care partners of hospitalized older adults

A research team from UW–Madison has published a paper in Health Education Journal that is titled, “Education and skills training for care partners of hospitalised older adults: a scoping review.” The study was led by Madeline Carbery and Samantha Schwartz, both graduate students in occupational therapy in the School of Education’s Department of Kinesiology. Beth Fields, an assistant professor in Kinesiology, and Nicole Werner in the College of Engineering provided direct supervision of the project.

Dean Hess submits testimony to Joint Committee on Education

On Wednesday, Aug. 11, UW–Madison School of Education Dean Diana Hess submitted testimony to the Senate Committee on Education and the Assembly Committee on Education during a joint public hearing on Senate Bill 411 and Senate Bill 463.

‘Home Stretch’ festival adds new performances

Spatula&Barcode has announced five additional participatory artworks in the "Home Stretch" festival taking place throughout the summer, bringing the total number of projects to 17. Spatula&Barcode, a Madison-based arts collaborative, was founded by Art Department’s Laurie Beth Clark and Michael Peterson.

UW–Madison’s Thompson receives CSES leadership award

UW–Madison's Mindi Thompson, a professor in the School of Education's Department of Counseling Psychology, will receive the 2021 Committee on Socioeconomic Status (CSES) Award for Emerging Leadership in Psychology from the American Psychological Association.

The Discussion Project invites applications for fall virtual sessions

The Discussion Project has released application information for two new sessions taking place virtually in fall 2021. This free, online course will support instructors in designing and implementing synchronous video conference discussion for classes of 40 or fewer students.
