Lisa Barker is the new executive director of the School of Education’s Office of Professional Learning and Community Education (PLACE), Dean Diana Hess announced. “I am thrilled that Lisa will lead PLACE,” says Hess. “She is an innovative leader with deep expertise and the ability to ensure that the work of faculty and staff in the School has a real impact on many communities — near and far.”

Excelling both on the field of play and in the classroom, several students pursuing degrees within the School of Education were among the 68 UW–Madison student-athletes competing in winter sports who were named to the 2020-21 Academic All-Big Ten all-conference team.

The exhibition is titled, "Between Dark and Dawn: A Personal Exploration of the Maternal Spirit."

UW–Madison’s Baron Kelly is joining the prestigious College of Fellows of the American Theatre in the honorary society’s next incoming class. He holds a joint appointment as a professor with both the School of Education’s Department of Theatre and Drama, and the Division of Continuing Studies’ Department of Liberal Arts and Applied Studies, where he works with the Odyssey Project.
