UW–Madison’s John Diamond and Linn Posey-Maddox are co-first authors on a new paper published in the journal Educational Researcher that’s titled, “Reframing Suburbs: Race, Place, and Opportunity in Suburban Educational Spaces.” The article is also co-authored by María D. Velázquez, a doctoral student with the Department of Educational Policy Studies.

Experts at UW−Madison’s Wisconsin Center for Education Research, part of the School of Education, are striving to answer questions about how racial, ethnic, cultural, and socio-economic differences impact the mentor-mentee relationship, while they help build more inclusive lab environments across the country and increase diversity in the next generation of university-based science leaders through mentorship education.

Fidler Research Grant from the National Resource Center for the First-Year Experience and Students in Transition at the University of South Carolina. Nachman is a doctoral candidate in the School of Education’s Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis.

UW–Madison alumna Rana Yaghmaian has been honored with the Leona Tyler Award from the Oregon Counseling Association (ORCA). Yaghmaian earned her doctorate in rehabilitation psychology from the UW–Madison School of Education’s Department of Rehabilitation Psychology and Special Education.

Despite the coronavirus, the School of Education’s Art Department has hosted a number of exhibitions this fall, featuring student work in a variety of disciplines. Though the department’s galleries are not open to the public currently, the work shown in many of these exhibitions can be viewed via social media and other online sources.
