Fill the Hill (virtually) Oct. 21-23 and support the School of Education

The flamingos are coming back …

But this year, one of UW–Madison’s Homecoming traditions — Fill the Hill — is taking place virtually.

Join us for a three-day digital fundraising spree beginning at 11 a.m. Central on Wednesday, Oct. 21 through 6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 23. Every flamingo on the (virtual) hill represents a gift someone makes to UW–Madison during this period.

Hill the HillThanks to matching gifts made available by generous donors, your support of UW–Madison during Fill the Hill 2020 can go twice as far. In the School of Education, every gift to our Impact 2030 fund will be matched, dollar-for-dollar, thanks to the Impact 2030 Morgridge Match.

In an additional effort to make sure every donation can make a significant impact, for every 100 gifts made to the School of Education’s Impact 2030 fund during Fill the Hill, the School will “unlock” another $100,000 in gift funds thanks to a generous donor.

Impact 2030 is an ambitious initiative launched in August that’s designed to dramatically strengthen our already highly regarded School of Education. Impact 2030, which is completely funded by donors, is helping the School push the boundaries of innovation, research, and creativity over the next decade and leading up to the School’s centennial celebration in 2030.

Through these efforts the School is bolstering opportunities and significantly increasing financial support for students, faculty, and staff so they can thrive — with the ripple effects of this work better serving our communities, the state, and the world. The School’s efforts are especially focused on equity, diversity, and inclusion work that reduces barriers to access; increases the demographic diversity of our faculty, staff, and students; and encourages scholarship and service that embraces all members of society.

And during these challenging times brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, all of this work is more important than ever.

Anyone who donates $75 or more will receive a flamingo-adorned face mask. And for every $250 donated, that person will be shipped a collectible plastic lawn flamingo.

Fill the Hill offers an opportunity for the Badger community to enjoy the silliness of a cherished, annual UW–Madison tradition — something we could all use right now. Furthermore, at its core, Fill the Hill is an important fundraising event that helps the university address critical needs and advance its mission.
