We’re asking faculty, staff, and alumni to help us generate excitement for Day of the Badger on April 6 and 7 by wearing red, sharing your stories with your friends and on social media, and making a gift in support of the School of Education.
Day of the Badger is a day (and then some) of giving to support UW–Madison. The School of Education could use your help building excitement and supporting students, faculty, and staff with your gifts.
If you’re a selfie person, we encourage you to share a photo. You can also screen-capture a virtual class or take a photo on campus or in your work-from-home location. Use #DayoftheBadger and please tag the School’s accounts on all platforms. (@UWMadisonEducation on Facebook; UWMadEducation on Twitter; and @UWSoE on Instagram).
When we reach 100 gifts, generous alumna Nancy Coan (1981) will give us $10,000. Gifts of any size will help us reach our goal and support students, faculty, and staff.
In addition, for every social media like, share, comment, or tag we’ll receive $1 — up to $5,000. Using your social media platform to share with friends and colleagues will help the School, whether you make a gift or not.
When we had to move to online classes, and then also implemented hybrid courses in Fall 2020, donor support was instrumental in making these efforts a success. Gift funds backed Technology Innovation Grants that helped instructors build meaningful, engaging courses on these new platforms. Similarly, we were also able to help more than 800 students through the Bridge to Success emergency scholarship program, and provided Wi-Fi hotspots and laptops to students who needed technology upgrades to participate in their online courses.
