Li Chiao-Ping Dance (LCPD) proudly presents “terza rima; Writings on the Body” on April 29 and 30, in collaboration with the UW–Madison School of Education’s Dance Department and the Department of French and Italian.
Li Chiao-Ping, the artistic director of Li Chiao-Ping Dance, is the Sally Banes Professor of Dance and a Vilas Research Professor in the Dance Department.
This evening of multidisciplinary dance works will take place during the Dante after Dante Conference, a worldwide celebration of the septcentenary of Dante’s death in 2021. The concert enters the world of Dante’s “Divine Comedy” by way of live dance performance, live music, and video.
Experience Dante’s imagery through Li Chiao-Ping Dance’s striking athleticism and nuanced physicality. The concert as a whole is structured to give the audience a feel for the journey through Dante’s worlds. Guest Artists Chele Issac and Julia McConahay join LCPD to provide film and live violin accompaniment during the performance.
Performances will take place in the Margaret H’Doubler Performance Space in Lathrop Hall on Friday, April 29, at 8 p.m., and Saturday, April 30, at 2:30 and 8 p.m. Tickets ($24 full price; $18 students/seniors) are available through Campus Arts Ticketing.
