On Tuesday, Mar. 16, teachers and staff from the Madison Metropolitan School District gathered for a panel discussion to talk about leading with anti-racism in the classroom, and UW–Madison’s LaVar J. Charleston served as moderator for the discussion.
Charleston is the associate dean for equity, diversity, and inclusion in the School of Education.
The event, which was held virtually, was entitled “Reimagine! Anti-racism and Innovation in Action.” According to the event flyer, it featured talented and dedicated educators “who have successfully kept students at the center throughout virtual learning by seeing, engaging, and acting in partnership with their students to make classrooms and schools thriving spaces for students.”
The discussion is available for viewing via the mmsdtv YouTube channel, here.
