A School of Education faculty member will serve as moderator for a forum featuring the five Democratic candidates in the 2026 Wisconsin governor’s race. All candidates in the race were invited to participate.

Kevin Lawrence Henry, Jr., an associate professor in the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis, will moderate the forum hosted by the Wisconsin Public Education Network on July 23. The forum will be hosted at the University of Wisconsin–Superior as part of the Wisconsin Public Education Network’s annual summer summit.

Henry says he is honored to support the event and its efforts to advance public engagement and democracy.

Henry, who is an alumnus of the School’s Department of Curriculum and Instruction, is an award-winning scholar of race, racism, and education policy and practice. His interdisciplinary scholarship investigates the politics of education, specifically privatization in education such as school choice and market-based approaches to education. 

Last year, he co-authored the second edition of “Organizational Theory for Equity and Diversity,” which offers a nuanced, diversity-oriented perspective on organizational theories used in educational leadership practice and research.
