UW–Madison’s Li and company to present ‘Here Lies the Truth, part ii’ at a2ru conference

Work by UW–Madison’s Li Chiao-Ping and her dance company, Li Chiao-Ping Dance (LCPD), will be presented at the upcoming 2021 a2ru National Conference, Sharing Stories: The Case for Art, on Thursday, Nov. 4, at 3:30 p.m. (central time).

Li is the Sally Banes Professor of Dance and a Vilas Research Professor with the School of Education’s Dance Department.

Li and her company will present “Here Lies the Truth, part ii,” a screendance work that encompasses performativity, isolation, space/place, personal/social identities and responsibilities, individuality and collective thinking, and finally, groundedness and connectedness.

The screening of the work will be followed by a talk back and question and answer session with Li and LCPD company dancers.

The a2ru National Conference celebrates storytelling “as a means to embrace our role in this unprecedented moment, continue to rethink our disciplines, how our methods have changed during this time, and what the future of the arts might look like.”
