The School of Education's Office of Communications and Advancement includes the School's alumni, communications, and development services. As a team, this unit assists the Dean in maintaining valued relationships with alumni and friends across the country.

  • The Office of Communications and Advancement coordinates numerous events for alumni, as well as events for students, faculty, and staff. These events are advertised through the Learning Connections alumni news magazine, the Red Door Digest e-newsletter for alumni, and the alumni website. If you have questions about the School's public relations efforts or special events, email Jody Moen or call her at 608-265-7875.

  • The Office of Communications and Advancement publishes the School's bi-annual news magazine, Learning Connections, and distributes it to nearly 40,000 alumni and friends. The office also acts as a liaison between the School of Education and the local and national press, and works with a variety of community organizations to promote the School's events and initiatives. Office staff also help manage the School's website content, and produce a selection of departmental newsletters. Please visit SoE News Connections for more information and to read the online editions of our publications. Please email Todd Finkelmeyer with questions about the School's publications or call him at 608-890-1430.

  • The Office of Communications and Advancement also works closely with partners at the UW Foundation to coordinate the School's fund-raising efforts. Private gifts to the School of Education support a variety of scholarships and special projects. If you are interested in making a gift to the School, or if you have any questions about the School's current fund-raising efforts, please email Betsy Burns, School of Education Development Director, or contact her at 608-712-9376.
