Teacher Pledge extension will support Wisconsin educators

The UW–Madison School of Education Wisconsin Teacher Pledge is extended through 2028-29. The program covers tuition and other costs for teacher education students who pledge to teach in Wisconsin. It has already earned commitments from 773 current and future educators.
Donors deliver $11 million in new funding to back Wisconsin educators

The UW–Madison School of Education on April 18 announced a major new investment to support Wisconsin educators, with Mary and Ted Kellner giving $7 million toward these efforts. These funds will extend the Teacher Pledge program; invest in the Early Career Teaching Institute; and bolster the Mary T. Kellner Teacher Education Center.
UW–Madison Professor Emerita Ladson-Billings to deliver AERA Distinguished Lecture

UW–Madison Professor Emerita Gloria Ladson-Billings will deliver the AERA Distinguished Lecture at the 2024 Annual Meeting, to be held April 11–14 in Philadelphia. Her lecture, titled “‘Not Yet at Plessy’: 70 Years Post-Brown,” will begin at 11:25 a.m. ET on Friday, April 12.

UW–Madison’s School of Education is No. 1 according to the 2024 U.S. News & World Report Best Education Graduate Schools rankings. In addition, 10 of the School's graduate programs were rated by U.S. News — including a No. 1 ranking for the Educational Psychology program.
