During a six-week stretch in the fall semester, the UW–Madison School of Education hosted 22 teachers from 12 different countries across Eastern Europe and Central Asia as part of the Fulbright Teaching Excellence and Achievement (Fulbright TEA) program, which is funded by the U.S. Department of State and administered by IREX.

In this role, Tom Owenby will serve as the director of the Teacher Education Center, which provides leadership and support to the School of Education’s 15 teacher education programs, coordinates partnerships with local school districts, and serves as a liaison to the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction and other state and national partners.

The Athletic Healthcare certificate offered through the School of Education's Department of Kinesiology launched in the fall of 2020, with 12 students initially committing to the program. During the 2022 fall semester, that number exploded to 140 students having declared for the certificate.
