Alum Lammert recognized by AERA’s Research in Reading and Literacy SIG


UW-Madison alumna Catherine Lammert received the Graduate Award for Literacy Excellence from the American Education Research Association’s (AERA) Research in Reading and Literacy special interest group (SIG).

Lammert earned her master of science for professional educator’s degree from the School of Education’s Department of Educational Psychology in 2014.

The award honors her dissertation research titled “Inquiry, advocacy, and practice-based research: Transformative possibilities in literacy preservice teacher education.”

Lammert went on to earn a Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction from the University of Texas at Austin in 2019. She is currently a postdoctoral research scholar with the University of Iowa’s Department of Teaching and Learning.
