Art Department’s free, public colloquia will feature lectures by visiting artists and faculty

This fall, the School of Education’s Art Department is offering two different colloquia options (Art 508 Colloquium in the Arts), including lectures that are free and open to the public.

Derrick Buisch
Art Department Professor and Chair Derrick Buisch is among the artists featured in the department’s fall 2021 colloquia.

On Wednesday evenings, the colloquium will, as always, host exceptional visiting arts professionals from around the country and the world. The artists will present their works and the concepts behind them.

On Thursday evenings, for the first time in several years, the colloquium will present weekly lectures by members of the Art Department faculty. This is a wonderful opportunity to gain insight into our faculty’s artistic practices and learn what inspires them.

For students, each section of Art 508 is worth one credit of studio elective. Members of the public can learn more about the artists who will be featured during the fall 2021 semester, here, or visit go.wisc.edu/uw-art-talks to view the lectures synchronously via Zoom.
