Thirteen faculty members have been chosen to receive this year’s Distinguished Teaching Awards, an honor given out since 1953 to recognize some of the university’s finest educators.
Among this year’s honorees, two are faculty members in the School of Education:
Emily Machado, an assistant professor in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction, is receiving the Chancellor’s Inclusive Excellence Teaching Award.
Travis Wright, an associate professor in the Department of Counseling Psychology and the faculty director of the Morgridge Center for Public Service, is receiving the Excellence in Community-Based Learning Teaching Award.
A ceremony for the honorees will take place at 5 p.m. on April 16 in the Great Hall of the Memorial Union; a link to RSVP will be posted on the awards website in February. Watch for more information on the honorees’ achievements in a future issue of Inside UW.
