Tandem Press’ annual open house and print sale returns Nov. 23

Tandem Press will be hosting its annual holiday open house and print sale on Saturday, Nov. 23, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

During the event, Tandem Press’ collaborative printers will demonstrate a variety of printmaking processes commonly used in the studio to create editions with world-renowned artists. Each demonstration will highlight a different technique, giving attendees insight into the creative process behind Tandem Press prints.

The event’s schedule includes screen printing with Patrick Smyczek at 11 a.m., solar plate intaglio printing with Jason Ruhl at 11:45 a.m., and relief printing with Christie Tirado at 12:30 p.m.

Prints by over 100 artists will be available for purchase, with many eligible for a 20 percent discount if purchased during the open house or through December. Tandem Press curators will be available for consultations in the print viewing area.

Guests can also view Tandem’s newest exhibition, “In Tandem: Lynda Benglis and Sam Gilliam.” The exhibition features a small selection of work from Tandem Press’s early years, showcasing glass sculptures and multi-layered prints by these two ground-breaking artists.

Tandem Press is located at 1743 Commercial Avenue in Madison. Learn more about the open house and print sale.
