This award for UW–Madison university staff with office support titles is awarded on an annual basis by University Staff Shared Governance. It is made possible by a generous grant from Joel Margolis, an emeritus faculty member at UW–Madison. The award is named for his assistant, the late Elizabeth S. Pringle.

In her acknowledgement speech upon receiving the award, Fisher spoke about how getting involved in the decision-making process on campus — by running and getting elected to the University Staff Congress, joining campus committees, serving on search and screens, and more — has helped her in her role as an academic program specialist for the theatre department.

By getting involved, she said, “the pieces of the largest puzzle I looked at started to fall into place. I could finally fully support the department’s students, faculty, staff, and prospective families by not only providing answers to questions, but also being able to explain the reasoning behind those decisions.”
