UW–Madison alumna Nancy Lesko has been named the interim executive editor of the Teachers College (TC) Record, effective July 1.

Lesko, who earned her master’s and PhD from the School of Education’s Department of Curriculum and Instruction, is the Maxine Greene Professor for Distinguished Contributions to Education and chair of the Department of Curriculum & Teaching at Teachers College, Columbia University. She is retiring from the faculty on Aug. 31.
Stephanie Rowley, the provost, dean, and vice president for academic affairs at Teachers College, said she is “thrilled [Lesko] will be bringing her broad and deep expertise in curriculum and teaching, her extensive scholarship, and her exceptional administrative skills to lead the TC Record and continue evolving the journal’s tremendous reputation and legacy.”
Lesko joined Teachers College in 1998 as an associate professor in the Department of Curriculum & Teaching. She has been a full professor in the department since 2002, became the inaugural Maxine Greene Chair in 2004 and has been the department chair for the past three years. She was the recipient of the Fulbright New Century Scholars Award in 2005, the Fulbright Senior Scholar Fellowship in 2004, and has edited or authored six books and dozens of articles, reviews, and book chapters.
