UW–Madison’s Diamond, Henry awarded Spencer Foundation grants


UW–Madison’s John B. Diamond and Kevin Lawrence Henry Jr. have been awarded grants from the Spencer Foundation.

Diamond holds the Kellner Family Distinguished Chair in Urban Education with the School of Education’s Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis. He received a Racial Equity Special Research Grant for his project, “How White Educators Learn About Race and Work Toward Racial Justice.”

Henry is an assistant professor in the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis. His project, “Black Swans: Black Educators within Charter Schools in Post-Katrina New Orleans,” received a Research Grant on Education and focuses on the perspectives and experience of Black educators within the nation’s first charter-only school district.
