
UW–Madison’s Carl Grant, a professor with the School of Education’s Department of Curriculum and Instruction, was honored as a Jockey Community Hero at the Milwaukee Bucks game on Saturday, March 4.
Grant came to Madison as a graduate student in 1969. He completed his PhD in curriculum and instruction in 1972, then joined the faculty of that department in 1974.
During his almost 50 years at UW–Madison, he has received numerous awards and recognitions. Grant has lectured on six of the seven continents, and in 49 of the 50 states. He has written or edited 48 books, as well as many articles on multicultural education, social justice, and inclusion for teachers and teacher educators.
As a Community Hero, Grant received four tickets to the Bucks game, a signed jersey, and more. He was recognized on the court with a PA announcement and on a photo slideshow.
