UW-Madison’s David Kaplan was named a research affiliate at the Leibniz Institute for Educational Trajectories (LIfBi) located in Bamberg, Germany.
Kaplan is the Patricia Busk Professor of Quantitative Methods with the School of Education’s Department of Educational Psychology.
According to the institute’s website, “…LIfBi at the University of Bamberg aims to promote longitudinal studies in educational research in Germany. LIfBi thus provides fundamental, trans-regional, and internationally significant, research-based infrastructure for empirical educational research.”
LIfBi is specifically tasked with carrying out the German National Educational Panel Study (NEPS). “ The target activity of the NEPS is to collect longitudinal data on the development of competencies, educational processes, educational decisions, and returns to education in formal, non-formal, and informal contexts throughout the life span.”
