The American Educational Research Association (AERA) announced the winners of its 2020 awards for excellence in education research earlier this summer, and UW–Madison's Annalee Good and Huiping "Emily" Cheng were recognized with top honors. In addition, UW–Madison alumna Adrienne D. Dixon was recognized by AERA with a Scholars of Color Mid-Career Contribution Award.

Patricia Marroquin Norby, an alumna of the School of Education’s Art Department, has been hired as the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York’s first, full-time Native American art curator. Norby earned her MFA from the Art Department in 2002.
